I joined Kim Beach in January 2018 after seeing a photo of myself at Christmas. I realised my weight gain was getting out of control and I knew that I needed to find something that would give me the encouragement and guidance to get back on track and lose those extra 4kg that had been hanging around, that I couldn’t seem to shift on my own.

On a daily basis I was feeling constantly bloated, lacked energy and my clothes were becoming uncomfortable. So, when I saw the Kim Beach program pop up on my Facebook feed and read the success stories, I felt confident that this was exactly what I was looking for. I knew that this was not just a quick fix diet scam or short- term fad, this was the beginning of a new lifestyle and I couldn’t wait to get started.

Before the KB program I liked to think of myself as being quite a healthy person, I had attended the same gym for nearly 20 years and I had what I considered at the time a good understanding of a healthy diet and although I ate 3 meals a day I still found myself lacking energy and plummeting mid-afternoon. What I realise now and through the KB program is I wasn’t eating enough of the right foods and I certainly wasn’t eating for maximum energy.
I have a close family and circle of friends so one of my concerns was how I was going to manage these changes but also still socialise, go away for the weekend or feed the rest of the family. This is when the 80/20 rule came in, but to be fair it wasn’t as hard as you might think and that’s the beauty of this program, it really is achievable at all times.

Kim’s menu plans are enjoyable and the shopping lists are easy to follow. Eating 5 meals a day on the KB program ensured that I never felt hungry and when I had a question or needed motivation the private KB Facebook group were always there to help, I felt encouraged and inspired by all their stories and I’m so grateful for their support.

Before the KB program my mood was ruled by the number I saw on the scales, so it was really liberating that ‘weighing in’ was not a part of the daily routine. The scales were also not necessary as I could see and feel the results almost immediately, I knew even without the scales the impact this program was having on my weight loss as well as my energy levels.

My goal was to lose 5kg and I lost 5.5kg in the first 8 weeks but most importantly I’ve continued this lifestyle journey. In May 2020 Kim offered 45 days free on the app during Covid – thank you Kim ❤️ Having completed weight loss and maintenance paper versions a few years ago with great success I decided to jump back onboard, my 50th was fast approaching and I wanted to feel fab at fifty!

That was 12 months ago and I’m still here 🙌 After my birthday I wanted to try shred but was worried about not being able to do all the training sessions due to some injuries, but with support from Kim, Claire and all the amazing ladies in this group I thought I’d give it a go. I’ve really seen the difference in my body and tone, something I didn’t think was possible, so if you are reading this thinking I can’t well guess what you can!
I still modify some of the training sessions to ones that are suitable for my body. After all it’s my journey ❤️
