Spices have been around forever and believe it or not hold magical powers. Well I probably wouldn’t go that far but most herbs and spices have a variety of health benefits and more disease-fighting antioxidants than fruits and vegetables.
In saying this are you like many that have a cupboard full of spices that just sit there until the expired date runs out, if you are start getting creative. My regular day to day spices I use are Cinnamon, Turmeric, Paprika and Curry Powder. My meals during the day are rest assured packed full of flavour.
It is so easy in today’s world to pop up the shop and grab some ready-made marinade or sauce which are generally full of sugar and fats, when you could make an easy substitute by just using what is in your cupboard. I spice up all of my protein with either or all of the following: Paprika, curry powder and turmeric which bring my meals to life especially spicing up the omelette mixture before cooking – amazing!!.
Get creative you will be amazed by what you can come up with and how good food can actually taste without relying on pre-made store bought products.
Great to sprinkle on your oats of a morning or on top of some natural yoghurt.
Add ?¢ teaspoons when cooking up brown rice or quinoa
Rub a whole chicken with olive oil, make small cuts over the chicken and push rosemary into the cuts then bake
After chopping garlic let it sit for 10 minutes before cooking so the garlic can be highly affective and provide your body with the benefits.
My favourite spice so sweet and tasty. I sprinkle Paprika on all of my proteins including fish and eggs.

It is time to get smart and realise the affect you can have on your body simply by what enters your mouth. Your really are in control of your health. Keep it simple and really appreciate the flavours you have created.
