“Dear Kim and Team,
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank you, and share my journey and results with you all.
I am a mum of two beautiful girls, wife to a fantastic man, and back in full time employment after a 10 year break raising my children.
This year I turned 40 and thought I was doing ok. I took fleeting glances in the mirror in the mornings on my way to work and didn’t notice the weight creeping on. My clothes were still fitting (all be it a little snugly), and I was enjoying eating the way I always had, and felt settled that this was the way I looked now.
It was only after seeing some family shots taken just before Easter 2017 that I honestly noticed that things were getting out of control. I started to analyse my reflection more carefully and began to notice the areas of my body that I had been ignoring until now.
Around that time I had started seeing the Kim Beach page come up on my Facebook newsfeed. Curiosity got the better of me and I looked it up. I’m a visual kind of girl and was blown away by the before and after images I was seeing, and the blogs I was reading about regular ladies, just like me, who had taken on this ‘challenge’ and had amazing results from it. I requested a sample day from #NoExcuses and immediately knew this was achievable for me too.
In for a penny, in for a pound, I signed up Easter Sunday and began gathering ingredients and reading ALL the stories ready to start the following Monday.
The meal plans and exercise regime were super easy to follow, and prevented me from giving in to temptation by being so prescriptive. It took away the need to over think things, and allowed me to just get prepped for the next day and get on with work and life, whatever it threw at me.
I loved having the support through the Facebook private page of all the other ladies who were at a similar stage to me, and reading ahead to getting tips from others who were further along. After week 4, and having weighed in to see the change I had already begun to make, I also felt ‘qualified’ to offer support to the newest members of the page too. It’s so reassuring to hear from women struggling with the same things, and learning a multitude of ways to overcome them. A huge wealth of knowledge is out there!
After my final weigh I was astounded to see that I had lost 7kg and 29cm from around my body. I now have an hour glass figure! Something I lost about 12 years ago. My eating preferences have altered so much. My children and husband have been totally on board with all the changes and have been a great source of encouragement when I have been fighting sugary temptation.
I feel great and look great! I can’t thank you enough for developing such a comprehensive and sustainable programme. I hope to head into #NoExcusesLife after a second round, and continue to improve my fitness and nutritional well being.
