“I joined the Kim Beach #noexcuses program in October after seeing my friend’s results who had started 2 weeks before me (Maysa Papandrea). I was feeling flat, tired and unhappy with how I felt and looked. I avoided going out anywhere because I didn’t like how my clothes fit and kept myself at home where I could wear trackies and pretend I didn’t care. Having 3 kids in 3.5 years took its toll on me in every way and the downward spiral of unhealthy eating and too much wine (because I ‘earned’ it!) was really starting to show.
The first few weeks were tough. 2 of my children had birthdays and I felt like I was missing out by not eating birthday cake or sharing their birthday dinner. That feeling didn’t last long when I began to see the changes in my body. I was feeling lighter, happier and healthy. My clothes were starting to fit better and my skin was clearer. This was all the motivation I needed to keep going. Ive never enjoyed exercise but enjoy this program because each day is different and so well planned out I know exactly what needs to be done. This has kept me on track throughout the 8 weeks and will continue to assist me for the future. I’ve tried lots of ‘diets’, some have worked but none have kept working in the long term. The Kim Beach #noexcuses program is now a way of life, it’s normal and makes sense.
Throughout this program I have learnt that food is fuel. The key is not eating less its eating more of the right foods at the right time. Giving my body the energy it needs to perform at its best. This is critical for me as I need that energy to do all I need to with my 3 kids and to be a role model for them. Especially my daughters, I don’t want them to go through life with the worry and bad feelings associated with being overweight. I really want them to have a healthy relationship with food. Additionally I have gained new recipes and the kids have enjoyed trying new foods, I had no idea they liked smoked salmon!
I cannot thank Kim and team Beach enough. Honestly I am so grateful for the support, the Facebook group and the motivation from other members. My 8 weeks ended and I had lost more than 9 kilos! I couldn’t believe it. I hadn’t been that weight since I got married and even then my body wasn’t as fit and strong as it is now. I’ve made exercise a priority and while I don’t exercise every day I try to be as active as possible and find if I don’t exercise I genuinely miss it. My kids love doing the weights sessions with me and that’s so encouraging. I was able to lose more weight than I expected and an incredible 31cms from my body! And I’m still losing, each time I step on the scales I’m surprised by the number dropping and I can see the physical changes to my body. We are having a family holiday in Fiji in January where I will relax my eating program a bit but have every intention of sticking to the principles. Regardless, I’m back for another round in January before joining #noexcuseslife.
