Look, I don’t do well with open water. So when I was invited out to spend the day paddle boarding with Ben from Container Door I was a little apprehensive…. But I have to say it was one of the most fun days I have had in a while!
I had never been paddle boarding before and I wasn’t quite sure how I would go on the inflatable stand up paddle boards from Container Door.
When I arrived down at Darook Park in Cronulla I was greeted with big smiles from Ben and his team. They handed me a backpack and I was a bit confused as I wondered where the stand-up paddle board was….. would you believe it, it was in the backpack?!
I opened it up and pulled out what looked like a rolled up camping mattress which was supposedly going to magically transform into a paddle board. The kit also included an adjustable paddle, pump and repair kit. We quickly started inflating the boards which only took a couple of minutes. I have to say I was so amazed at how solid the board was, even though it’s inflatable it felt as hard as a surfboard!
Wet-suited up, looking the part, it was time to hit the water!
I was still feeling a little nervous so I ignored the stand up part and started on my knees. After getting comfortable with the board I found my rhythm and took the big leap of getting up on both feet! It wasn’t long before I stopped focusing on not falling off the board and began to really enjoy being out on the water and taking in the views.
The board was so sturdy and it was crazy to think that only half an hour ago this was in a backpack!
After talking with Ben for a little while I was really interested in what Container Door is doing – it’s so unique and they actually care about bringing value and quality to their customers. The “Caribbean” stand up paddle board that I was lucky enough to try out is offered by Container Door at a third of the average retail price and is an absolute bargain if you ask me! Check out everything that Container Door has to offer on their website.
For a busy mum that wants to find new ways of getting active with the family this is a brilliant idea. It’s so easy to store and carry, it is simple to use but most importantly it is a lot of fun! I also think it is a fantastic way to enjoy exercising whilst spending quality time with friends.
