If you have followed me for a while you will know that my philosophy on positive nutrition and life is all about balance.
I call it my 80/20 rule ….
To live a sustainable healthy life you need to have more than 2 speeds which for many people tend to be either 100% on or 100% off when it comes to training and nutrition.
Once you start to create the 80/20 balance you will be able maintain the body weight and shape you want long term.
It is about learning to enjoy social occasions without guilt, safe in the knowledge that this is not going to negatively impact your progress if you are following the 80/20 principles and eating well and training hard 80% of the time.
A healthy lifestyle does not have a start date and an end date it all comes down to being consistent (NOT perfect) and enjoying your training and nutrition and the lifestyle you have chosen to lead.
I choose to live by my 80/20 rule which means that 80% of the time I enjoy training hard and eating whole natural food and I balance this by really enjoy myself and not feeling guilty about the 20% of the times when I am out socializing with family and friends.
Last Friday night was a perfect example of this as my whole team got together to attend an amazing fund raising event called Girls Night Sin which brings awareness and support to Breast Cancer and helps raising funds.
