“For about the past 12 months Kim’s posts have been popping up on my Facebook page. I was always intrigued by the success stories but during this time I suffered from niggling injuries which put me off starting any of the programs until this year.
My weight has always fluctuated, varying by about 5-7kg, which for me is very frustrating as I’m only 5’ tall. I have been going to the gym consistently for 30 years, mainly doing group fitness classes. I have done weights programs before on and off but always went back to the comfort of the group classes and falling back into the same routine. I also used to do middle distance running until I had an injury setback a few years ago. I was about to turn 49 and I really wanted to get my weight under control and be in better shape before my birthday.
Kim’s #nolimits has totally changed my mindset on how to approach fitness and health. I now love doing weights and it will continue to be my number one priority. I have a new love for going to the gym at 5.30am instead of 7pm which now gives me more precious time with my family in the evenings.
I was a bit hesitant to start the program as I have a lot of dietary restrictions. I have a severe allergy to peanuts, tree nuts and some seeds and I loathe tin fish. I also have malabsorption of fructose and sorbitol/manitol which restricts me to a low FODMAP diet. Kim’s Beachfit team have been wonderful with suggestions and alternatives in relation to the meal plan. There is nothing that can’t be adapted to suit your lifestyle and tastes.
In the 8 weeks of doing #nolimits I achieved so much more than what I expected when I started this journey. I wanted to make the most of the program, so I committed to it 100%. No alcohol for 8 weeks, never missed a training session and stuck to the meal plan principles (given my dietary restrictions) – even when I went out for dinner with family and friends. It’s amazing what willpower can achieve.
At the end of the 8 weeks I lost a total of 14 cm off my chest, waist and hips, 4cm of each thigh and 2.5cm of each upper arm and a total of 7.1kg. I still had a bit of fine-tuning to do, so I continued with #nolimits for another 4 weeks and continued to achieve further results. No other program I have done, either with a personal trainer or online program, has ever been this effective before.
Many thanks to Kim for creating these amazing programs and guiding me towards my new lifestyle. The private Facebook groups are the essence of these programs being successful. You can post anything 24/7 and have a reply very quickly. I have loved following the private Facebook group and sharing and hearing about the ups and downs of the other wonderful ladies completing the same program. I have also met some great friends along the way. Also, a big thanks to the Beachfit ladies Geraldine, Anni, Jo and Nicki for your words of motivation, wisdom and encouragement! I look forward to continuing my new healthy lifestyle and habits by joining #noexcuseslife to add more variety into my training and meals.
I highly recommend any of Kim Beach’s programs if you want a healthier and fitter lifestyle. It can work for anyone!
