Today is one of those days, I can’t describe how proud and moved I was to read about Beck’s experience on my #noexcuses 8 week program.
Please read her beautiful email below and I think you’ll understand why I had tears in my eyes.
Thank you Beck, you are an amazing women doing amazing things I am proud to be a small part of your success.
Just wanted to let you know how grateful I am to have come across your #no excuses program.
I’d love to send you an awesome before and after pic but I couldn’t bring myself to take a photo of myself before I started the program. I’ve attached one of my family and I taken the other day though. Those cheeky faces have been the most amazing support to me since I started #no excuses.
I have 4 kids, I run my own busy custom cookie business (yep, that might have something to do with my weight gain!), I pastor a church with my husband and like most women am generally crazy busy all the time and make time for everyone else but not for myself.
About 10 weeks ago I came across an ad for #noexcuses. I don’t usually pay much attention to this kind of thing but I was barely squeezing into my size 16 jeans and feeling absolutely awful about the consistently increasing numbers I was seeing on the scales and the ever tightening waist bands. It had really started to affect my self confidence.
I was fast approaching the weight I was 10 years ago when I was pregnant full term with twins! I was literally going out to buy a size 18 the next day or I was going to do something about it. So, instead of spending the money on jeans I decided to spend it on #no excuses.
Today I’m in a size 12 and down 16 kilos as a result of the program. I’ve got about 10 more to go but feel like now I know how to get there. My head is in a completely different space in relation to food and I’ve been completely re-educated on how to make good choices.
I had been having around 5 cups of coffee a day just to “keep me going” as I had no energy and was tired all the time. I am on medication for thyroid issues and assumed my levels were out. I had asked my doctor to send me for a blood test to see if my dose needed increasing. My pathology request is still in my handbag because that was a few days prior to starting #no excuses. Within a week of being on the program I noticed a dramatic increase in my energy levels and realized it was my poor eating habits that were causing my excessive tiredness, not my thyroid.
Apart from getting comments about my weight loss I’m also getting asked what I’m doing to make my skin so clear and glowing. I’ve battled bad skin since I was a teenager and have never ever been asked that question. 20 years on, countless different skin products and this is what works!
I didn’t think I’d really get into FB support page but found it to be so helpful to my journey. Having someone to answer my questions along the way (no matter how dumb I thought they were) and always having someone share successes and the odd hiccup along the way has been so beneficial. It helped remind me I’m not the only one trying not to reach for the block of chocolate and a glass of wine at night and the girls encouraged and inspired me along the way.
My next goal is to increase my training to get rid of the next 10kg and to increase my fitness.
Can’t thank you enough that this might actually happen!
